HEAD OF CONSERVATION OF EIGHTEENTH-CENTURY PAINTING AND GOYA AT THE MUSEO DEL PRADO 1996-2019

After completing her PhD History of Art from the Complutense University of Madrid, Manuela Mena headed the Conservation of Eighteenth-Century Painting and Goya Department at the Prado between 1996 and 2019. After years training in Italy and the United States, she became a conservator at the Department of Drawings and Etchings at the Prado and General Deputy Director of Conservation and Research. The exhibitions that she has organised include Manet, Goya in Times of War and Captive Beauty. Fra Angelico to Fortuny.
