Carlos Montaño turned to painting in 1982 after graduating in Fine Arts in Seville. However, he soon began to arrange different objects on his canvases, disrupting the two dimensions, and with time he eventually began to explore the field of sculpture. In 1997 he was awarded a scholarship to the Spanish Academy in Rome. His most recent exhibitions include 'El conflicto del objeto o la memoria de Dios' [‘The Conflict of the Object or the Memory of God’], at Casa de la Provincia (Seville, 2016).
