(UN)COMMON VALUES. Two corporate collections of contemporary art

Exhibition catalogue (un)common values. Two corporate collections of contemporary art, jointly organised by the National Bank of Belgium (NBB) and the Banco de España (BDE). In this exhibition, the NBB and the BDE take a look back on fifty years of artistic creation in a rapidly evolving society through a broad selection of works from their collections of contemporary art. Underlying this endeavour is a conviction that art works, far from being static objects with a merely decorative function, are valuable case studies with which to explore contemporary paradigms and ideologies.

All texts are available in English, French, Spanish and Dutch. The catalogue includes photos of most of the works in the exhibition, which is structured into three areas —Matters of Exchange, I Contain Multitudes and Paix/Prix— with pieces by 43 internationally renowned artists.
