Focused on the use of colour and the desire to use a minimal geometric alignment to convey his search for the essential in painting, Luis Palmero is an artist whose technique, far from keeping him outside the sphere of emotion, enables him to evoke the bias of the simulation of a space inside of which the consciousness resides or is developed, first by means of a certain metaphysical air and, subsequently, using a vibrant clarity.
Ten works by Luis Palmero created between 1990 and 2005 form part of this collection. They are representative examples of his study of the primacy of colour and form as pillars to determine what can be thought of as the notes of a melody on the musical stave. His work, focused on changes in fields of colour, geometric forms and lines, is able to evoke both interior and exterior spaces from the purest essence through his use of a flat colour range applied on the canvas with gentle brushstrokes.
His works from 2000 onwards, represented here by two diptychs from the Indian Summer series, reveal the maturity of a painter who always finds the most appropriate combination to use colour to convey undoubted references to happiness, while evoking a dialogue between the sensuality of curves and the insanity of the colour range used.
