Born in Ronda (Malaga), Carlos Aires now divides his time between Spain and Belgium. His work provides a caustic, critical picture as it narrates the reality surrounding us and uses aesthetic ambiguity that fuses different aspects of popular culture and Spanish folklore.
Aires has had many solo shows: at the HISK in Belgium, Contemporary Art Centre of Malaga, Santander Municipal Museum of Fine Arts and the Huesca Art and Nature Centre. He has taken part in different group exhibitions at the Mu.ZEE in Ostend (Belgium), the Chopo University Museum (Mexico) and the Aljira Centre for Contemporary Art in the USA.
