Throughout Felicidad Moreno's career, her art has oscillated between biomorphism, ornamentation and other formats, supports and materials that cannot be pinned down to any one tradition. Her work reflects, albeit in a veiled or unconscious way, certain feminist elements. The six paintings and two drawings by the artist in the Banco de España Collection cover the central period of her career, from 1989 to 2003. They reflect her evolution from the enthusiasm of her emergence in the 1980s to the challenges she set herself in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Untitled (1989) shows a marked predilection for her materials, while at the same time reflecting a shift tendency towards more circular, spiral and in general curvilinear forms — also a feature of her other works, such as the two drawings from 1993 that provoke the image of improvised constellations with an absolute compositional freedom and an inclination for pictorial shine and the trompe l'oeil effect of white flashes.
